Enrolment

How do I enrol on a course? 

You can complete your application for our courses online. You can find our step-by-step guide on how to apply by clicking here. If you are struggling with the application, please contact us by email info@waes.ac.uk or phone on 020 7297 7297 for further support. If you are not able to do this, you can visit one of our centres to get help with your enrolment (see operating hours below).

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) – How do I join an ESOL course?

How do I join a Maths or English Functional Skills course?

When and how can I apply? 

All applications are submitted online, and it is an easy, straightforward process. We will need your personal details along with other information, but it should only take you 15-20 minutes to complete. You can apply for more than 1 course if you are still unsure exactly what you want to do.

When can I enrol for my course?

You can complete your enrolment by visiting any of our 3 centres.

Will I have an interview for my course?

Once you have completed your application on our website, we will invite you in for a ‘Welcome Session’, which includes an assessment and interview.

I want to change my application or apply for another course; how do I do this?

To change your application and apply for another course, please contact the information line on 020 7297 7297 or email info@waes.ac.uk.

I’m having issues completing my enrolment online, how do I do this?

Depending on the course you are enrolling on, you can visit any of our 3 centres and our Admissions Team will help you to complete your enrolment. Find out where we are on our contact page.

Why am I unable to join some courses once the term has started?

Due to the level of teaching, and the need for high attendance to pass your course, we cannot always accept late starters. We know our students achieve their greatest potential when they complete all the lessons.

Course Information

How do I let my tutor know that I can’t attend my class today?

Please let us know that you are not going to attend today by completing the ‘I cannot attend class’ form or call us on 020 7297 7297.

How do I take my exams?

Your teachers and course leaders will let you know when your exams will take place and what you will need.

How do I access remote learning and course materials?

Your tutor will get in touch to support you with learning materials.

Do you offer courses that lead to a qualification?

Yes, we do. We offer various courses that leads to a qualification. Check out our courses here.

How do I cancel my course?

If you have already started your course, you will need to inform your course tutor. If it is before the start of the course, please contact the information line on 020 7297 7297or email info@waes.ac.uk.

Do you offer online courses?

Yes, we offer online courses. To view our Distance Learning offering, check out our courses.

When is the next course directory available and where can I get it from?

Our intakes are throughout the year with most starting in September and you can find details on our course pages.

When will I receive my exam results and certificates?

We will email learners with details as soon as their certificates are available for collection. The timing is dependent on the exam boards. GCSE exam results are released in August.

Once you have been notified that your certificate is ready for collection, you can visit our Lisson Grove centre and collect it from reception. Please ensure you bring photo ID to collect your certificate, we cannot issue certificate without it. Please contact us if you have not heard from us about your certificate. You can email us at exams@waes.ac.uk or call 020 7297 7297 and ask to speak to the Exams team.

For AAT certificates, these are sent directly by AAT and do not go via WAES.

Can we get in touch with you?

If you are a WAES learner and we have not been in touch with you, it is possible that we do not have updated contact information for you. Please call 020 7297 7297 or email info@waes.ac.uk so that we can stay in contact.

If you are having any difficulty with your studies, please contact your tutor and they will help to find solutions so that you can continue learning.

When are you open?

Our team are available by phone and email and will help with any queries you have. Our phone lines are open from 9am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays. Or view term dates

Is the College easy to get to by public transport?

Our College sites are in central locations that are easily accessible by public transport. You can find information on the nearest tube/bus stops and train stations on our contact page.

Support

How can I apply for a Learner Bursary?

If you are a learner on a Low income or accessing means tested benefits, you are eligible to apply for learner bursary.

Learner Bursary information can be found here.

To apply for the Learner Bursary login to our portal using your learner email and password. Your learner email uses your Learner ID and password which is given to Learners when they start their course.

I have no idea what I want to study, can you help?

Of course! Our team of expert advisors and careers support are on hand to help you navigate your options and give you individual advice. To book a one-to-one appointment with one of our dedicated Careers Officers, you can:

  • Ask your tutor or at Reception for a Careers referral via the helpdesk
  • Email CareersSupport@waes.ac.uk with your Name, Learner ID and state the support that you require
  • Pop into the Employability Hub at Lisson Grove and speak to one of our Careers Advisors

What support can I receive from the Careers team?

We offer a wide range of services, guidance and advice on all thing’s careers, employability and higher education related.

Some examples of the areas we can help you with are:

  • Looking for jobs, including work experience at WAES
  • CV and application support
  • One-to-one careers advice
  • Careers Coaching
  • Links with employers and professional organisations
  • Workshops delivered by our expert partners.
  • Attending careers fairs, networking sessions and other related events
  • Writing CVs and drafting job applications and preparing for interviews
