Term Dates
WAES operates a three-term academic year, with term 1 typically beginning in September, term 2 in January and term 3 in April.
Below are listed the term dates for the current academic year along with key dates, centre closure dates (correct at time of publication) and public holidays. You can also view the opening times for term time and holidays.
Academic year 2024-25
Term 1
- Term time: 9 September – 21 December 2024
- Autumn half term holiday: 27 October – 3 November 2024
Term 2
- Term time: 13 January – 5 April 2025
- Spring half term holiday: 16 February – 23 February 2025
Term 3
- Term time: 23 April – 19 July 2025
- Summer half term holiday: 25 May – 1 June 2025
Closure days and public holidays
All WAES centres are closed on the following days:
- Thursday 22 August 2024 – Staff Development Day
- Monday 26 August 2024 – Summer Bank Holiday
- Sunday 22 December 2024 – Friday 3 January 2025 – Christmas Closure, including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day
- Friday 3 January 2025 – Staff Development Day
- Friday 18 April 2025 – Good Friday
- Monday 21 April 2025 – Easter Monday
- Tuesday 22 April 2025 – Staff Development Day
- Monday 5 May 2025 – Early May Bank Holiday
- Monday 26 May 2025 – Spring Bank Holiday
