WAES is expanding its curriculum offer for the 2024/25 academic year, recognising the green sector’s need for a growing, diverse workforce, across areas like retrofit assessment and building information modelling. Qualifications in the specialised skills required to work in this growing sector will be taught in our new Green Skills Innovation Centre, linked to our Lisson Grove centre, featuring state-of-the-art facilities and equipment including an immersive teaching space.
In the meantime, we already offer the Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Climate Change and Environment as a Distance Learning course, which you can view below.
Our Level 1 Award in Improving Energy Efficiency and Sustainability is designed for learners interested in gaining fundamental knowledge and skills in energy efficiency, environmental awareness and sustainable practice. This qualification will create career opportunities in various sectors as going green is the future and our main target is to reach net zero by 2050.
Please note, this course is currently only available to learners in England outside Greater London, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West of England, West Midlands, North of Tyne, Sheffield City Region, and West Yorkshire.
This qualification is designed to provide learners with an introduction to the principles of climate change and environmental awareness. It will ensure learners understand the nature of climate change and the role they can play in helping to reduce carbon emissions. Through achieving the qualification, learners will gain the knowledge and understanding to act as drivers of positive change within the workplace and at home.
