Marwa Nasr

I am a single mother to 2 amazing children. I have always had the passion of travelling and come from a business background which includes travel and events which was almost 14 years ago now. My interest in art and enjoyment for drawing, sketching and painting prompted me to pursue further learning. I wanted to learn new techniques and methods to enhance my skills and progress in this field.

Alongside, raising my kids i enrolled onto the Level 1 UAL Diploma in Art and Design (Art). My tutor was absolutely fantastic and he really wanted to pass on his knowledge and passion for art and taught us selflessly.  He was the reason for me understanding my style and encouraged me to feel comfortable and confident in my work. As a result I stayed on and achieved so much in Level 2 UAL Diploma in Art and Design (Art). I am currently enjoying Level 3 UAL Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication (Art), I’m learning from two amazing tutors with skills that I am interested in.  Our Art Technician has also been amazing in terms of support and helping understand things I needed extra motivation with.

Overall I have enjoyed learning about the history of art from our experienced tutors, about all the different artists and the styles in which they paint and of course, the actual learning of using different art mediums and applying them which was one of the challenges I faced however with the support and knowledge gained I’ve finally been able to believe in myself as an artist and gain the confidence to use these mediums and create artwork to exhibit at Art Galleries/Exhibitions such as the Triangle Gallery.

After the course I hope to explore my newfound knowledge, expanding specific areas that I have found interesting over the years and continue on my art path.
