This qualification aims to develop learners? understanding of autism and the principles of supporting individuals with autism - covering the person-centred approach and influence of positive communication methods, how to support positive behaviour, and how individuals with autism can be supported to live healthy and fulfilled lives.

Level 2 Certificate in Working with Individuals with Learning Disabilities

This qualification aims to give learners knowledge and understanding to work with individuals with learning disabilities or difficulties. They will explore the principles of safeguarding and positive risk-taking and gain awareness of the autistic spectrum.

Please note, this course is currently available to two types of learners:

  • Adult learners living in Greater London, who are also either unemployed, on means-tested benefits, or earning below the London Living Wage, currently £27,007.50 per year as of 23 October 2024.
  • Adult learners living in England but NOT in the combined authorities of: Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, Tees Valley, West of England, West Midlands, North East, Sheffield City Region, and West Yorkshire, who are also either unemployed, on means-tested benefits, or earning below the ESFA threshold of £25,000 per year.

Learners will develop an in-depth knowledge and understanding of autism, which could support progression onto appropriate qualifications, and into relevant employment such as in the Health and Social Care sector.
