WAES Graduation Ceremony Honours Learner Achievement

WAES proudly celebrated the achievements of learners from the AWS re/Start Programme, Retrofit Bootcamp, Full Stack Software Development Bootcamp, and Education and Training courses at a memorable graduation ceremony.

The event was opened by WAES Principal CBE Arinola Edeh, who welcomed graduates, guests, partners, and staff to celebrate the dedication, resilience, and hard work of this year’s learners.

We were honoured to welcome Angela Harvey as our honorary guest. Angela presented certificates to the graduates, recognising their commitment, perseverance, and achievements. We were also delighted to welcome CEO Lorraine Hall from the Code Institute, who joined us in celebrating the success of learners from the Full Stack Software Development Bootcamp.

A highlight of the ceremony was hearing directly from our learners. Graduates delivered inspiring speeches reflecting on their learning journeys, the challenges they had overcome, and the opportunities that now lie ahead. Representatives from each course area spoke on behalf of their fellow learners, sharing their experiences and expressing gratitude to tutors, staff, and classmates for their support throughout their studies.

The graduation celebrated not only academic achievement but also personal growth, resilience, and ambition. It was a fitting occasion to recognise the hard work of every learner and the impact of WAES’s programmes in equipping individuals with the skills and confidence to progress into employment, further education, and new career opportunities.
