You may be eligible for free or funded learning

Many WAES learners receive financial support towards the cost of their course.

You may be eligible for free courses or reduced fees if you live in Greater London and earn below the equivalent of the London Living Wage, currently £28,860 per year (subject to eligibility criteria and funding rules).

For learners who live outside devolved areas, funding may also be available for those earning below £26,800 per year, subject to eligibility criteria.

If you’re unsure whether you qualify, please speak to our team. We can explain the funding available and help you understand what support you may be entitled to receive.

Before you visit

To help us process your application as quickly as possible, please bring any relevant documents with you.

Depending on your course and circumstances, you may be asked to provide:

  • Photo identification (such as a passport, driving licence or national identity card)
  • Proof of address
  • Evidence of benefits or income if applying for a funded course
  • Evidence of your salary if applying for funding linked to earnings thresholds
  • Qualification certificates or results relevant to your chosen course
  • A debit or credit card if course fees are payable

If you are unsure what documents are required, please contact us before visiting.

Please remember that Lisson Grove will be closed on Monday 31 August (Summer Bank Holiday) and Tuesday 1 September (Staff Development Day).

Some London bus services are also due to be affected by planned industrial action from August to October. If you are travelling to one of our centres, we recommend checking your journey before you leave and allowing extra time where necessary. Visit the TfL strikes page for the latest information.
