What is the course about?
This course is delivered in partnership with Code Institute and you will need to register your interest with them and complete their Coding Challenge before enrolling with us.
Please note this course cannot be funded for any learner so the fees must be paid either up front or through an advanced learner loan, if eligible.
The course is designed to deliver the practical skills to design, develop, build and test a web-based software application. The content aims to develop your abilities and proficiency in the most relevant and sought-after coding languages and tools for both front and back-end development. You will learn industry-ready skills to take up roles across software/web application developer, full-stack/front-end/back-end developer, QA engineer or Software support engineers.
The course is delivered as a blended course with facilitated tutor sessions provided by the College with supported online learning and self-study from the Code Institute learner platform. It is an on-demand programme, and you can learn and study whenever suits you.
- You must be aged 19 or over- Applicants must complete the 5 Step Coding Challenge set by Code Institute- There is no requirement for learners to have prior skills, knowledge or understanding of coding, however the admissions team will need to consider whether applicants have the necessary foundations to undertake studying at level 5 which includes a level 2 English and Maths qualification. .

The course is taught through the Code Institute learning platform. On programme, you build four milestone projects. The projects comprise a portfolio, which is used for assessment.
You will need access to your own computer (laptop or desktop) and an internet connection to participate. A standard computer a minimum of 4GB ram and a modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) is sufficient to participate. There is an additional exam registration fee of £245 and you can apply for a learner bursary to cover the cost.
You will be a full stack web developer at the end of this programme. You will be able to treat all aspects of the modern software stack. The frontend; backend; as well as integrations with 3rd party applications.
You will be qualified to enter the workforce as a software developer in the following graduate roles:- Junior/Associate Frontend Developer- Junior/Associate Backend Developer- Junior/Associate Software Developer- Junior/Associate Full Stack Developer- Junior/Associate Quality Assurance Engineer- Software Support Engineer
