WAES Careers Week March 2025

WAES Careers Week was an exciting and insightful event designed to support learners in developing essential skills and exploring future career opportunities. The week featured a series of engaging sessions led by our Careers and Learner Development Officers, including:

Careers Success: Skills Employers Want – Helping learners understand the key attributes employers seek.
CV & Job Preparation Drop-In – Providing tailored guidance on crafting strong CVs and job applications.
Confidence & Communication for Work – Equipping learners with the skills to present themselves effectively in the workplace.

In addition to these valuable workshops, industry professionals from various sectors shared their expertise. The week kicked off with guest speaker from Mount Anvil provided insights into careers in Accounting and Finance, while Grand Junction offered advice on working in cultural and community engagement.

Towards the end of the week Hari’s Hairdressers delivered a live demonstration in our Aspire Salon, which our hairdressing learners found incredibly beneficial for further training and career pathways.

Kreative Barn provided valuable guidance for graphic design and digital marketing learners, offering practical tips on building portfolios and approaching agencies and companies. Christie’s, the world-renowned art and luxury business, shared industry knowledge that was particularly useful for creative learners. Volterra also took part, showcasing career opportunities within the construction sector.

WAES Careers Week was a fantastic opportunity for learners to gain real-world knowledge, network with industry professionals, and take practical steps toward their future careers. Take a look at some photos from the week below.
