The course equips you with the vocabulary, structure, and calm precision needed to express complex ideas clearly, weigh diverse points of view, and make your voice heard in discussions, meetings, and community life.
Minimum English level Entry 3 / Level 1 (E3/L1).
The curriculum focuses on practical spoken English for reasoned discussion by helping you clearly distinguish between facts, opinions, evidence, and assumptions. You will explore everyday philosophical questions relevant to work and modern life, practice looking at issues from multiple perspectives, and learn to spot common logical leaps and bias in discussions. Through guided language practice, you will build useful functional phrases to agree, disagree, justify opinions, and present persuasive, respectful viewpoints in both professional and social settings.
Teaching takes place through supportive, tutor-led group discussions, structured paired conversations, real-world case studies, and accessible thought experiments. The classroom environment is open, friendly, and carefully structured so that English learners have ample speaking time, vocabulary support, and gentle feedback to build fluency and confidence.
The cost is a low £40 fixed fee for all learners, regardless of benefits status and where you live. This is a pilot course, and the cost will increase next year.
