I was born and raised in Thailand, in a middle-class family. When I was in high school, I enjoyed learning about computers, especially basic coding skills and playing computer games was my favourite thing to do. Back then in Thailand it was rare to see women working in tech as the older generation had a more traditional way of thinking and wanted their children to grow up and study medicine mainly. So, I ended up going to university to study nursing, once I graduated, I worked in a hospital for 7 years as a nurse before moving to London as I got married.

I found out about WAES from the Westminster resident newsletter promoting the AWS graduation which made me even more interested. Most companies nowadays are moving towards digital so I thought this would be a good opportunity to change careers, so I enrolled onto the course.

Studying AWS at WAES has changed my life. I’m keener to learn and develop my knowledge further. We have all the learning materials such as the hands-on labs and the canvas where we can play around with the AWS product. Not only did my tutor teach us AWS but he gave us advice for when it came to going on job interviews and CV help. There was also an employment careers coach that I would meet during the course who kept me motivated to apply regardless of being rejected by different employers. Eventually I was offered a position as a trainee cloud engineer for Nology, a technology consultant company.
