Digital and Teacher Training Graduation Celebration 2024

Congratulations to our graduates who are now qualified and ready to start their careers in tech and teaching!

The graduation ceremony, held at the Lord Mayor’s Parlour in City Hall, celebrated the dedication and achievements of our learners from the AWS re/Start programme, Full Stack Bootcamp, Software Development, and Teacher Training courses.

The event was attended by WAES Tutors and Heads of Departments, along with special guests Lee Lindsay (Code Institute), Alex Hughes (WAES Governor), and the new Lord Mayor, Cllr Robert Rigby. They all delivered heartfelt, informative speeches and offered high praise for both the learners and WAES College. Our learners also had a chance to say a few words about their learner journey at WAES.

I went to the London School of Economics, so I know what good education means. You know what £17,000 brings you?
Learning at WAES is so much better. WAES has given me a new angle and direction to continue my career, you know, and my life so very grateful. – Full Stack Web Application Graduate, Varun Gupta

The AWS re/Start programme is in collaboration with Amazon Web Services to equip local people looking to change or start a new career in cloud computing whether they’ve been unemployed or underrepresented. The “Full Stack Bootcamp” is a 16-week, full-time training programme in collaboration with Code Institute that prepares learners for careers in the digital workforce as software developers.
