2022-23 has been an amazing academic year for Westminster Adult Education Service and we are delighted to share the highlights of the year in our impact report.
Over 7,000 learners were supported by our dedicated and motivational staff to achieve their learning goals and we can proudly report a 93% achievement rate. Our learners, some of whom are featured in the report, are truly inspirational, often juggling personal challenges, which make their achievements even more impressive.
In response to the huge demand for skilled workers in digital technologies, we expanded our programmes to include software development and full stack development up to Level 5 through our Digital Hub. We complemented our entrepreneurship programme for self-employment by introducing start-up and digital marketing courses. We were once again National Finalists in the category of Creative and Design Apprenticeship Provider for our creative and cultural library apprenticeships.
Our three centres create a sense of community and supported by our trusted community learning delivery partners, we continue to take our teaching and learning to the heart of the community. We enabled over 1,500 learners and their families to develop life and study skills that give them the confidence to overcome adversity, develop resilience and thrive as lifelong learners starting, developing or changing careers.
WAES’ renowned ESOL courses expanded to support Ukrainian and other refugees to develop the language skills needed to access services and settle in the UK. WAES, is a place that provides a safe space for learning, friendship, and community and 98% of our learners would recommend WAES to family and friends.
Our Pimlico Nursery was rated Outstanding by Ofsted in November, and we are proud that we are one of few learning organisations offering high quality onsite nursery provision to give our learners, peace of mind.
We recognise that the year ahead will continue to be challenging. However, we are prepared and committed to working with our partners to respond positively to the needs of our community and local businesses through an evolving learning and skills offer and look forward to celebrating our shared successes with you next year.
