What is the course about?
The purpose of the Level 2 Certificate in Cyber Security is to provide learners with sector awareness. It will do this by introducing the knowledge and understanding in roles and issues relating to Cyber Security. The secondary purpose is to act as a stepping stone that will lead learners into studying Cyber Security at a higher level.
This is a Level 2 programme and you will be expected to already hold a Level 1 in Essential Digital Skills, or equivalent.
Modules include: Introduction to cyber security, understand terminology used in cyber security, understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security, understand common threats to cyber security, understand methods of maintaining cyber security and working with others in cyber security.
This course is offered as a blended programme where you will receive tution and direction at set times during the week from your tutor. You will need to be able to access this direct teaching input, engaging with your tutor and peers and have time to practice your skills as homework.
There are no costs associated with this course. It is essential that you have regular access to a computer or laptop and reliable internet service to complete this course.
You will consolidate your knowledge of Cyber Security and learn practical skills which can be used to proceed into study at Level 3.
You will need 90% attendance and have successfully passed the Level 2 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices to progress onto Level 3 Certificate in Cyber Security Practices starting in Jan 2022.
