WAES Learner reveals 2021 Christmas Card

Over the last month we have been collecting entries for our annual Christmas Card Competition. Each year, we encourage learners and staff to submit their artwork and the creative designs are presented to our Christmas Committee. The winner of the competition is turned into the WAES Christmas card and distributed to the Service’s colleagues, partners, stakeholders and associates within the wider community.

This year we had so many beautiful entries from learners and staff across the whole service. It was difficult to choose just one winner, but this design by UAL Level 3 Graphic Design learner Silvia Tanca really blew the Christmas Committee away with its gorgeous graphics and inclusion of one of Westminster’s most famous landmarks – ‘Big Ben’.

We caught up with Silvia to ask about the inspiration behind her festive design, and how it feels to win.

“I was inspired by what represents Westminster and thought straight away of Big Ben and put a Christmas hat on top of him. It feels amazing to win, I am very happy and surprised. My teacher is amazing and is pushing me a lot, I am really enjoying my course so thank you to my tutor.”
