Great Big Green Week 2026

We were delighted to take part in Great Big Green Week, the UK’s largest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature. The week encourages people, organisations, and communities to come together to explore sustainable living, environmental awareness, and positive action for a greener future.

As part of the celebrations, we hosted a range of activities and displays across our centres, including:

  • Green Live Learning Lab – Air Quality in the Home and Neighbourhood Workshop, where participants explored ways to improve air quality and create healthier living environments.
  • The Green Homes Display Board, providing practical tips on saving energy, reducing waste, and making homes more environmentally friendly.
  • Big Green Books Display at Pimlico Library, featuring a collection of books on sustainability, climate action, and green living to inspire further learning.
  • Green Activities at Pimlico provided learners with an opportunity to explore environmental themes through engaging and informative activities. As part of the session, participants shared their favourite green spaces in London, highlighting the importance of parks and natural areas for wellbeing, recreation, and connecting with nature. Some of the comments shared included:

“Regent’s Park because it has green spaces and a playground, and you can see ducks, birds and other animals.”

“We like Virginia Water Lake a lot because the children can see various aspects of nature, including the trees, beautiful roots and the waterfall.”

The week provided a valuable opportunity for residents and visitors to engage with environmental topics, discover useful resources, and learn more about the small changes that can contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle.
